What to Do in Qatar to Stay Healthy This Autumn/Winter
The weather is already changing, we feel the crispness of it in the morning, and the light breeze in the evening, but we can’t really say its winter yet, so here’s what you can do before it gets too cold.
Talk to your doctor about the best ways to take care of yourself for winter.
Just because winter is upon us, doesn’t mean we stop taking care of our bodies like we did for summer. Actually, most people work harder in winter to achieve their summer bodies in the healthiest way.
Don’t forget to eat right, just because you need to stay warm, doesn’t mean you need to mess up your diet, actually the better you eat, the less likely you are at getting sick as soon as the weather starts to change.
Have lots of vitamin C. Colds and flus are the most annoying illnesses and they almost always come indefinitely in the winter or just before when the weather starts to change on us. The best foods to consume for vitamin C would be lots of acidic fruits like lemons, limes, oranges, and strawberries.
Consuming liquids and staying hydrated doesn’t seem to be a concern because you think you are not sweating as much in the winter, but this is actually not true. Studies have shown that more people suffer from dehydration in the winter than in the summer. This is because the summer heat and sun reminds you constantly that you are thirsty. Don’t wait until you are thirsty to drink water, actively drink it whenever you can.
Warm food and beverages are a must in the winter months, try to take this as an opportunity to try out new recipes, or herbal remedies to drink like green tea, ginger, cinnamon coffee, or even vegan hot chocolate. Keep yourself and your body warm.
