Viewing the Annular Solar Eclipse | Dubai and Qatar

/ Solar Eclipse

The annular solar eclipse is a magnificent sight that occurs when the moon covers the sun’s center. These eclipses are named for their darkest point and it takes place when it is a new moon, the moon is at a lunar node, or the moon is near its farthest point from earth.

Hakeem Fact: There are four types of lunar eclipse: partial eclipse, annular eclipse, total eclipse, and hybrid eclipse.

On Thursday 26th December 2019 you will be able to experience a very rare solar eclipse. But of course, you’ll need to get special spectacles to witness nature’s miracle as looking at the eclipse with your naked eye can harm your eyes and even cause vision loss. If you’re in Qatar, you can pick up a pair of these specific glasses from The Al Thuraya Planetarium. If you’re in Dubai, you can view the happening at three locations: Al Thuraya Astronomy Centre, Marina Mall and Mushrif Park.

You won’t want to miss viewing the annular solar eclipse as the last time it occurred a century ago! The next eclipse is predicted to be after 38 years.
